MEET THE AUTHOR
Hi, I’m Bianca.
I’m a mum, writer and the creator of Lenny the Oyster.
Lenny was written during one of the hardest chapters of our family’s life, after my husband Matt was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). I was trying to help our children understand that sometimes life gives us things we didn’t ask for and simply can’t change.
Around the same time, I was speaking at schools through our business, The Lemonade Crew, talking to kids about resilience and navigating the hard stuff life can throw at us. One idea kept coming back to me — no grit, no pearl.
I went looking for a children’s book that could explain that idea in a simple, gentle way. I searched high and low, but I couldn’t find what I was looking for.
So I wrote it myself.
Lenny began as a story for my children, but I’m sharing him in the hope that he might help other little people navigate their big challenges too.
